Connecting to WTS-Workspace
Connecting to WTS-Workspace will allow you to access an AIC-hosted server that has our standard software installed. This includes Raisers Edge, CITI, Adobe Acrobat CC suite and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
You will need to have Microsoft Remote Desktop installed to access WTS-Workspace, the icon for Microsoft Remote Desktop looks like this:
Note: If your Microsoft Remote Desktop application has been configured in the past for a previous project, you may see a second tab called "Workspaces" with information filled out already.
Do not use this tab to access WTS-Workspace. Make sure the PCs tab is selected as you follow this guide and access WTS-Workspace.
MacOS Instructions
(If you are at your office, connected to the internet with an ethernet cable, you will not need to establish a VPN connection first. If you are at home, or on-site and connected via Wi-Fi, then you'll need to establish a VPN connection first.)
- Open Microsoft Remote Desktop, then click the + sign, then click Add PC.
- In the next box, type wts-workspace.articnet.local as indicated on the following image, then click Add:
- Double click on the entry you just added to Microsoft Remote Desktop:
- In the next box, type in your Computer Login credentials, then click Continue:
- If you see this box, just click Continue:
- If you see this desktop, you're in!
- If the workspace seems like it might be zoomed in too much (requiring you to scroll through the window to see the whole thing), you can have it fit the whole thing in the window by selecting the following option:
Log out of your account via the start menu to disconnect from the WTS server.
Windows Instructions

- Open the Start Menu and begin typing Remote Desktop Connection. Click on the application that appears on top.
- Type in wts-workspace.articnet.local in the space provided, then click Connect.
- Type in your computer login details in the following box like so:
- You will be logged into the WTS-Workspace server, if the size of the window is odd, you can right click the title bar and select Smart Sizing to have it squeeze the view into the window, like so:
Accessing your Network Shares & Departmental Drives
While connected to WTS-Workspace, you can get to your network shares and departmental drives by clicking on the applicable icon on the Desktop:
Do not save files on the desktop within wts-workspace, instead, choose a location on your department drive or your home folder. Files saved on the desktop will deleted when your session has ended.
Printing
Printing to PDFs will stick around, but you'll want to pay attention to the "Printer" you're selecting. CITI users will want to take note, please select "Microsoft Print to PDF" as your printer if you're intending to create a PDF file. The Adobe PDF Printer may prompt you to log in with an Adobe ID in order to use it. Microsoft Print to PDF will output the file without the prompt.
When printing to PDF, make sure that your selection looks like this:

Be sure to Log Out of your account to disconnect from the WTS server. Some applications, such as CITI, will not function properly during your next connection if you do not Log Out.
