I just received a new Macbook Pro. How do I get started?
Your Macbook Pro comes with extra accessories or may change how you access certain software if you've recently switched to it from older hardware. The following are helpful tips so you can get started on it with little issue.
- As part of your deployment, you've been given a wireless mouse and keyboard. The mouse will be charged via the supplied lightning cable, left at your desk. The wireless keyboard charges with 2 AAA batteries, your department will need to keep a stock of these on hand. TSS does not supply extra batteries.
- The first time you log into your Macbook Pro (or anyone else), must be while it's connected with an ethernet cable in the office. Once it's been logged in here, you may log back into it no matter what network you're on, or even while offline.
- To switch between Ethernet and Wi-Fi, see these instructions.
- If you have existing Filemaker Pro databases to work with, you may access the program by following these instructions.
- The Macbook will charge with the supplied charger and attached USB-C cable, like so:
When you'd like to take it home, you can disconnect the extension cable from the power brick like this:
Then, attach the small plug we've left with you to the power brick:
Now you're set to take your Macbook away from the office!

Apple's newest model of Macbook Pros only offer USB-C ports.
As you can see, there are no standard sized USB ports are available on the Macbook Pro directly.
Every Macbook Pro we deploy will be supplied with one adapter that will allow for two standard sized USB connections, one video out, and one ethernet line. Seen here:
